Re: Ask Nathan
Nathan - thanks. It is nice to have a place to carry the side conversations, and meet new writers. Thanks for starting them. :) Okay. I've re-written this 4 times now, and I can't figure out how to say this in business speak, so I give up. I'll just do my regular me. I hope you take care of yourself...

Re: Sharing novel ideas (that you couldn't write yourself) ?
Well, this is non-fiction, but I wish someone would write a book about homeless women. The streets are much harder on women - there are fewer services, and they are frequently assaulted and targeted. There are stories there that need to be told, and attention brought to the issue. Maybe someone has ...

These are all wonderful - I've heard of a few, but now most. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll definitely look them up. :)

Re: Ask Nathan
Hi Nathan,
I have a question - I know you don't answer all questions, and you may not want to answer this one, which is cool.
But I'm curious about your vision for the forums. What made you start them and what are you hoping they will become?
Thanks - hope you had a great holiday! :)

Re: Pure Pain or Pure Ecstasy??
For me - part of the pain is going to places inside myself. I honestly don't know, sometimes, if I should go there. I have one short story I've been sitting on for years because it's so......horrible. And I have another short story in my mind about a serial child rapist. I'm shrinking from it. I'm n...

Here's one:

I really like this one. :)

Re: following recipes loses the cake
Personally, I think the trick is to write a really good book. If your book is good, the query can be mediocre, imho. Maybe one or two agents will accidentally miss it because they are paying attention to the query only, but someone will see it. So write a d#$m good book, and do your best with the qu...

Christmas quote for you. :)
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Re: Sharing novel ideas (that you couldn't write yourself) ?
Cool ideas, like the co-joined twins. That could be fascinating.
I'm with you, Smurfhead, on the historical fiction. I think it would be cool to write a story from Noah's persepective. The flood, the Ark. I don't know if it's been done, but it would be interesting.

Hi Richard, Well you already got lots of responses, so I'm sort of repeating what other people have said...but..... I get terrible writer's block. I think it's an intense case of performance anxiety. I just get scared I can't do it. I don't have any great answers, but I can share with you some of my...
