Re: 10 reasons e-books might not eat the world
I'm not nostalgic for books because I've never left them. :) They're right there, providing everything I need. Really, I'm not anti-ebook or anything. I'm perfectly fine with ebooks. I do get a bit annoyed with the "ebooks are superior" idea that's touted in some places, where it's intimated that pe...

Re: 10 reasons e-books might not eat the world
Mike Shatzkin just weighed in on this topic: The ebook, unlike the paper book, advances every month, if not every day. Screens and the reading platforms they run just keep improving: they get cheaper, lighter, more flexible, more capabilities-rich and there are ever more choices of them. Battery li...

Hi Anatole, and welcome the Bransforums. And they are good people here! Mostly. I have my sheriff's eye on a few. Beware! (Okay, nah, everyone's nice.)
Hope you find a home here, and if you have any questions drop me a line.

Re: The Introduction Thread
Hi Mark, and welcome!
I hear you on the heat. Our air conditioning is down again and I do believe parts of my brain are melting out of my ears. I think I just lost algebra and trigonometry. But who really needs those, anyway?
If you need anything, ask away.

Re: Its got a nice beat I can dance to....
Funny, I almost never pay any attention to lyrics. Which is maybe a little pathetic for a writer. I'm interested in the music and the voice as an instrument. Lyrics? No. There are a few ( a very few) exceptions. But mostly, no. Plus, most song lyrics, as literature, are... not good. Not good, indeed...

Re: General question about queries
Halt the presses! If you're pitching a memoir, it's the one kind of non-fiction you treat the same as a novel. You don't need a proposal. You need a finished, polished memoir (unless you have celebrity power), which you can then query in the same format as you would a novel. One page query, plus pos...
