Re: Forum Suggestions?

I agree, I'd love to critique! Have a forum where people post not only their queries, but excerpts, short stories, first pages, first paragraphs, etc. Hell, if a query is good enough, I wouldn't mind critiquing an entire manuscript.

Re: I feel so out of the loop, but...

Hey, Christi IS a huge Star Wars nerd. I'm an all sorts nerd. D&D, Magic the Gathering, Harry Potter role play, comic books, chess, lifelong Trekkie, and dual monitors because I can't get enough of cyberspace in just one... I revel in my geekdom. Heh, Magic the Gathering? I had a lethal black & blu...

Re: Ask Nathan

Nathan, your forum is truly amazing! I was wondering if you could take a look at Johydai's Query, something EMBERO. I know all we try to do is help, but she gets 5 posts with 5 completely different answers. I was about to give her a 6th different answer, but I figure I ask you, since you know more ...

Re: Ryan Chin--Query--Memoir: Without Rain There Can Be Rainbows

Dear Secret Agent, (Make it Personal Section) Mr. Chin buries his face into the golden hair of his panting dog. A veterinarian administers the shot and the dog’s panting ceases. The dog's death is too fast, and it's not set up well. The first sentence could be seen as playful (that's how I first re...

Help has been very, very much appreciated! She cuts off ...

Re: Query Time Tourism Edited Again (please don't hate me)

Hmm. Yeah that's complicated. Maybe try a query without mentioning the love triangle. Instead, you can cliffhang it- Jakorus is shown what he must do to prevent the rebellion from blossoming into open war; innocents he is to murder, friends he is required to betray, and the wrong choices that he mus...

Re: Query Time Tourism Edited Again (please don't hate me)

OK, the love triangle. I'm still confused. Why aren't the older Jakorus and Larissa together? I mean, why plot how to be together again in the future when his past self can just say, "Hey, that guy over there is me. Date him." Bam, Jak and Larissa are together. Or does the young Jak not want to wait...

Re: Query Time Tourism Edited Again and again and again...

I'd like to preface this- I've noticed you've revised this a lot, usually every time you get a response. Remember that not all critiques are equal. If someone suggests something you don't agree with, you don't have to change it (unless that someone is me :)) (Extra parenthesis! I'm not saying anyone...

I totally forget where I heard this, but there was a fake band with the name Onward Christian Slater.

Genius, I say.
