Gifts for your agent?

I signed with my agent in June and have been developing a project with her (submitting in the spring). I gave her a small Christmas gift when we met the other week (less than 40$).

Was this a faux pas because we haven't made any $$ together yet?

I thought I'd pass around the manuscript word count tool I use when trying to estimate how long my total manuscript is. I believe in versions. Save and Backing Up Everything. I open new version every time I plan to make edits or major changes, rewrites, etc. I can always go back then.
