Re: History Longshot

It is a fascinating subject. I would like to learn more about the holocaust myself. I've learned a little through my boss, whose grandmother is Jewish. I have also met a few survivors when I worked at a retirement home. They didn't really talk about it, but one woman was really screwed up from it. I...

Yes, I have to remind myself that all the time. I like Christ, I just don't like what people do in his name.

Re: History Longshot

I love ancient history! All of history in general, but I seem to be drawn more to anything pre-Christian. My most recent history read are: Love and Louis XIV- Antonia Fraser The Trojan War- Barry Strauss Plutarch's Lives Vol. 1- Plutarch The Inquisition- Edward Burman Never heard of the Barry Strau...

Swedish fish for me. I eat them until I have a stomach ache, and then I keep going. Because. I. Just. Can't. Stop.
Those soft peppermints are pretty awesome too. In fact, I may just have to go get me some.

Re: What is your go-to book?

Oh, okay. You're doing better than I am--I've got about six books (or at least six interconnected plotlines, some of which may be crammed together a la Parts One and Two if they aren't long enough to stand on their own in print form) planned out, but I'm still revising the first one. >.< I like to ...

Re: What is your go-to book?

Yes, I have that problem too. I made the mistake of starting a series with the last book, so now I have to go back and revise a whole lot. I mean a lot . But overall, I think it is better. Mine picks up in the middle of its overarching timeline, so it has a lot of backstory to deal with. It's not a...

Re: Is reading enough to spark creativity?

I know! Those I live with are constantly asking why my light keeps popping on and off in the middle of the night--it's because I wake up at three in the morning with these random ideas that could make great stories, whether stand-alone or in the series my WIP is a part of (hopefully). I do that too...

Re: Is reading enough to spark creativity?

Dreams can also be a wonderful wellspring of inspiration, provided you can remember them upon waking. I seriously have had the best ideas for stories from my dreams. Me too! My WIP is largely made up of dreams that I wrote down and later made sense of, connecting them, weaving them together, and wr...

That sounds pretty interesting actually.
You'd enjoy my WIP then. :)

I just might ;)

Re: What is your go-to book?

Lol. I'm sorry, your description was just hilarious. You might not like my MS then. It ends pretty badly. But I intended it that way. In fact, I kinda want the reader to hate me for the ending. Well, I kill people, torture people, and do all sorts of bad things to children. So that's why it strikes...

Re: What is your go-to book?

Yes, I was entirely disappointed. But not as much as I was when I read Need (I think that was the first one) by Carrie Jones. I was so angered at the end of that book that I threw the book across the room. I couldn't look at it. I couldn't have it in my house . That has only ever happened with one ...
