Re: Make Your Fight Scenes Believable

I do like this. But it is fiction, and sometimes people just want a good fight with colorful cinematics (even if you're just imagining it). :D

Re: Emotional Overload

I've never had this problem. Quite the reverse, actually. I always write women (when I have them, because there is a distinct lack unfortunately) as unemotional and detached or trying to get something. Or even if I do have girly characters, they're angels\demons and have the ability to choose sex or...

Re: When writing isn't your full-time job.

One of the reasons I think I'm not as OMG business driven as other people (though many people tell me I'm a natural leader and could go places and do things) is because I tend to like what they call 'vacation jobs'. It's a job where you have the downtime to think, research, write, and doodle between...

Re: Should authors smile in their book jacket photos?

My favorite author photos of all time, though, are from a dictionary from the 1940's that I got from a thrift shop--yes, they have photos of all hundred-some contributors, most of them bearded white men in mortar-boards, frowning authoritatively, occasionally intermittent with older women looking b...

Re: NANOWRIMO~!

NaNo purists believe you have to have a new story for it to count. But there are a lot of people who say it just has to be 50,000 new words. :)

Re: Best writing advice from a CP/beta/reader?

There is one beta reader that I learned a lot from, actually. I only had the beta reader for a chapter because she kept disappearing and then she got rude when I called her on that and her attitude of yelling at me. But I remember a couple things, and she was rather good at getting them. 1) "OMG it'...

Re: I suck at autographing.

I think if I ever get to the point of signing...I'll just ask, "Alrighty, who's your favorite character in the book?"

And sign as if they were signing. I have a multitude of signatures.

Edit: I should add I'm that kid that used to forge things in school. XD

Re: Where do characters come from?

My dolls. I play with them and interact with them, and from how they act in my play time I tend to get ideas. I know, from a thirty-year old that sounds insane but it works. Case in point, Jeremiah Aubry (last name still in the works) got a quirk from when I was fitting some clothing. I tend to talk...

Re: Should authors smile in their book jacket photos?

I respectfully disagree, but only because he's trying to sucker you: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/every-day-a-friday-joel-osteen/1100059436?ean=9780892969913&itm=1&usri=joel%2bosteen Actually, if you look at every single one with him in it, he's smiling stupidly, and it involves his hands in some...

Re: Idealism vs. Conspiracy

You know, I was talking about two books the other day. One I read and it was great. It left me with a feeling of...[sigh] that was nice. I would like to read more but if there wasn't, that's okay. And the other was so great OMG I can't wait until the next book comes out! I think you need to ask your...

Re: Chapter Accordian

My mom has read books where the chapters are one page before. And these are people that have written over fifty books. I mean...really now. I tend to like to read shorter chapters, because I like to be able to bookmark a lot. But I write longer chapters because they're like little stories within the...
