Re: The SQUEE GOOD NEWS Thread

2 items: I survived the first week of my internship and I made the Dean's List at school. I'm living in a surreal world at the moment. Wow! You are amazing :-) Congrats to you. Isn't it crazy how hard it is to believe our own lives when things are going so well? I love hearing about your Squee Good...

Re: Writer Conferences

I thought I would mention that registration is open for the Pikes Peak Writers Conference to be held in Colorado Springs, CO, April 28 - May 1. I've found this to be a well organized and really fun conference in the past. Anyway, I'll be there. Signed up for the dreaded pitch session. *shivers* Her...

Re: Writer Beware

Thanks for posting Steph. I think this should be moved to the All things writing section as that's where most of us spend our time. This needs to get out, I would just die if someone from our board entered the contest and then posted about it. I know, right? It looks like it got moved to the right ...

Re: Do you have a new blog post?

It's the first of 3 posts about the whole "Write What You Know" rule that seems to prevail.

Re: Biting my nails here

It wasn't too bad. There were some comments that I reacted to with an "I could see that," and some where I realized from my reaction that I need to change the setup for that part of the book so it's more clear and reduces the confusion. There weren't a whole lot of comments on the manuscript itself....

Re: Biting my nails here

I've got the beta back. Gonna do a crit tonight for someone then read through the beta's notes in two different betas (one partial, one full). Then let it all just sit and launch into revisions in a couple of days.

Re: Writer Beware

There's a huge thread about it at the absolute write forums. Complete with the one who runs the contest trying to backpedal out of the clear-cut language of the rules.

It's really quite humorous. That, and the organizer calling Janet Reid unfair in the comments thread of the post Janet put up.

Writer Beware

Okay, not sure where this should go, so if the PTBs think it should go somewhere else, please move it. Twitter's all abuzz with it. So is the blogging world. http://jetreidliterary.blogspot.com/2011/01/dont-enter-this-contest.html That is Janet Reid's blog post about it. Colleen Lindsey tweeted this...

Re: When to move on...

This is something I'm struggling with at the present. My first novel that I ever started (which ended up being my second) is currently boxed away. But I re-read the novel over Christmas and fell in love with the characters and story again. Want to find a way to save it, but really not sure how. Tryi...

Ah, a slow-cooked dish. That explains it. It sounds like it was amazingly delicious.

Re: Cooking

I'm with you on most things coconut. But Red Lobster's coconut shrimp tastes like donuts. They're delish. I spent a semester in culinary school. It's not for the faint of heart. Recently, I attempted a Chinese noodle dish. Not so successful. Oh well. Nothing as dramatic as losing a pot, but it just ...

Why I stopped following or commenting on your blog or twitter or facebook.
