Re: Copyright issue

I'd consult a publishing attorney for situations like these.

Re: POD, ebook, or both???

For my guide to writing a novel, I used KDP for Kindle, went direct to Nook and Kobo, used CreateSpace for the print version, and used Smashwords for all the rest.

Re: How many genres can you query an agent with ?

I have submitted a work of non fiction to several agents with many rejections. I have a work of fiction and a series of children's books I want to query agents about. Is it acceptable to send a query to an agent that has rejected a query from me? Will they remember my email address and automaticall...

There are others, but I think they're not as active - thanks for the spam reports!

Re: Do literary agents keep track of rejected queries?

I would think it depended on how large the agency was. Right? What if you waited at least a year or so to send them another query, would that be ok? No, I wouldn't try to pull a fast one. I always remembered when a query sounded familiar and I didn't think highly of getting the same one multiple ti...

Re: word or pdf for manuscript request

Most publishers use MSWord Office and that would probably be the preferred method. Remember to double space! If you don't have office, send it as an rtf. file they can then paste into their own word processor. DO NOT SEND A PDF. They cannot work with it. Yep -- this is right. Sorry for the delay, I...

Re: Do literary agents keep track of rejected queries?

Hi Nathan - Just something I've been curious about ... do literary agents save query letters that they reject, or do they usually and generally delete them after rejecting? Do literary agencies ever archive or keep track of queries that have been rejected? I think it probably varies from agent to a...

Re: Where does this belong?

Hey Nathan, I'm a bit stumped with getting started on presenting my book. I would like to know which approach I should take in submitting it to an agent. The book is about me growing up as a boy in a lesser known country. I don't consider it to be a work of fiction though there are fictional elemen...

Re: How much should I worry about trends?

I started working on a children's story some years ago but, as I'm sure happens a lot, work, family and life in general took over and I put it aside. Now, seven years and two more kids later, I'm itching to pick up my writing again. My half-baked story has stayed with me and I'm determined to finis...

Re: bestsellers vs. classics

i liked your post about bestsellers vs. literary fiction: http://blog.nathanbransford.com/2013/09/bestselling-novels-by-year.html i was wondering if you've written or know of any similar studies/lists that examine how many bestsellers eventually become classics, esp. older works from the 18th-19th ...
