Re: Do you have a new blog post?

Looking for followers for my new blog. After my blog on Blogspot got too dusty for me to ever un-dust it, I gave in tonight and got a Tumblr. Hopefully, I'll blog about things like writing (duh), teenage life in general, and I plan on posting book and Broadway reviews. And anything else I feel like ...

Re: How We Relate to Writing

I write because it's the one way I know how to communicate well with other people. I write because there's a picture of me, three years old and sitting on my favorite swing, writing. I don't remember that picture being taken; I didn't even know it existed until last year, when my Aunt told me it'd s...

Re: Semi-autobiographical Novel

Are you researching the time periods and settings in which you choose to write? If you research things, there's really no excuse not to "know" how someone lived. Of course, there is a difference between living something and researching it; no matter how much you research, you're never going to be ab...

Re: What is your go-to book?

My go-to books are anything by Jack London, The IceMark Chronicles, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson.

So much love for those books.

Re: The Million Word March to Becoming Professional

Let's see. 100,000+ words of the same story, but two different drafts, for two different NaNos. 34,000 in various short stories 50,000 in other fiction writing. That's 184,000 words. Not too bad, considering I'm still a teenager and only seriously began to consider writing for publication a year ago.

Re: NaNoWriMo Daily Cookies: 30 days of support & encouragement

I just won NaNo a few hours ago and wanted to thank you for your daily encouragement. In between the official pep talks, when I really needed to buckle down and write, these posts helped me do that.

Thanks!

Re: Post-Nano: Successful Strategies

My novel won't be done at the end of November. Right now, I'm at 43,356 words and I haven't gotten to the real meat of the story yet. That's because I started writing ten years before the main plot takes place, which wasn't my best idea, but without having written those scenes I wouldn't know they a...

Re: Gender roles: Emotionally weak heroines

Twilight is probably one of my least-favorite books. With that said, it accomplished what it meant to do; it's a love story between Edward and Bella. That's why people read it. They love the scenes where Bella and Edward are close. They don't read it for it to be the next Pulitzer prize winner, or ...

Dealing with Writer's ADD

Hi. I'm Hannah. And I believe that I suffer from Writer's Attention Deficit Disorder, rather than Writer's Block. I currently have three ideas that could manifest themselves into three serious stories. They're all in completely different genres, with totally different plot lines and characters. One ...

Re: Ask Nathan

Why are the titles of projects supposed to be capitalized in queries? Is it just to make the title of a novel stand out more against the text of the query, or for some obscure reason I'm not aware of?
