Re: Daily Darling

sometimes it helps me with the loss anxiety to paste it in a file I have of sentences to be used when appropriate. that way, it's not gone forever... but really it sort of is. Snap! I have a file like that. It turned out to be around 400 pages (longer than my MS). What I've found, too, is that the ...

Re: The Introduction Thread

Hi Victoria! Yay South Aussies! Lemme guess . . . Flinders Grad??? ;) And yeah, I think Nathan's blog was about 'twenty-somethings'. I'm holding onto twenty-something for another few months!

Re: Does your MS go up or down in size?

LOL, Casnow (passive voice)! ;) My MS was originally 175K words, and I now have it down to 121K. I think both adding and subtracting would be difficult. What sort of genre is this MS? I think out of all the options you've jotted down, adding scenes would be best. Some people/agents get bored with to...

Re: Forum Suggestions?

Welcome, Noob Sam.

We definitely have regs, and we have a makeshift Introduction thread in All Things Procrastination. You may have to scroll down a bit to find it . . . a lot of us procrastinate and create new threads there . . .

Re: You know you've been up too late working on your book when..

You read through your MS a month after writing a particular piece in a chapter, and you can't remember writing it at all. What's more, the writing is pretty good. You're actually impressed with yourself, and wonder whether it was during a time when you were 'resting your eyes' whilst typing . . .

Re: Daily Darling

"Twenty six years ago I lost the love of my life. To live without your soul mate is a pain worse than death. To know what you are missing out on: the love; the friendship; the adventure . . . living for an eternity means nothing if your life holds no meaning." *Weeps* But I like what I have now: "Th...

Re: The Introduction Thread

You actually made me laugh out loud. No, really, I don't even want to write "LOL", because I'm sure people just write that but don't actually "LOL". Staddicts. LOVE. IT. My husband knows not to let me go in there alone. I actually spend my birthday gift vouchers on stationery. God knows how much mon...

Re: Urban Fantasy

Hmm, tonight I put forward this same question in a chat with two agents from a well known agency. I thought that urban fantasy had to be set in a city, too, but the agent told me it doesn't have to be in a city. So now I'm thinking mine might be urban fantasy. It's not paranormal romance, because th...

Re: Computer, thy name is Satan

Haha, Krista G., you make me laugh. Nathan's blog/forums would have to be my ultimate time sucker! But as I write, I also have my email and facebook page open. And then if I see that someone has talked about something interesting regarding another blog or agent, I go and look at that page and get si...
