I forgot my other question.

Re: Got the contract, did the revisions ... and editor quits

Update: 'Old' editor called yesterday and was very gracious. She told me she would read my revisions and offer feedback, which I very much appreciate. She also gave me the name of my new editor and said I was in good hands. I've done my google stalking, I mean research, and I'm optimistic. Further u...

Got the contract, did the revisions ... and editor quits

Is this common? My agent assures me it's all going to work out. No word yet on who the new editor will be. Meanwhile, I rocked those revisions and was really looking forward to the one person who knew the 'before' and the editorial letter ... to see the 'after'. Now, of course, I'm imagining all sor...

Re: What are you writing now?

Revisions of my debut novel. (Yah!)
And when I can't take it anymore, blogposts about revisions of my debut novel. (Kidding. Blogposts about women and the creative process.)

Re: Writing with ADHD

This topic is near and dear to my heart. In fact, adhd (or ADD) and its impact on self esteem and the artistic process are major themes that run through my (recently bought) debut novel. But enough about my main character. My whole life changed when I started taking medicine for ADD. Though highly c...

Re: Does anyone write humor?

There are some very funny parts in my book. And it's not just me who thinks so. My mom said. (Twice.) And my dentist. Okay, I lied about my dentist. True story. In one part of my book, I had a character say, "Well, you know what they say about L.A.?" When I wrote this line, I had not idea what she w...

Re: Finding an unforgettable (and hopefully unused) title...

I was told early on that it was fine to come up with a working title, but frequently publishers change it. I came up with one i liked, but also kept a file for any and all titles that came to mind during the writing process. Once I secured representation, I shared all of them with my agent, and she ...

Trade Paperback: a response to the ebook issue?

Hi Nathan and virtuals... Any new information about the popularity of Trade Paperback deals? I read what you wrote a while back on your blog, about it being reasonable for genre fiction to go directly to trade paperback, but do you think publishers are making more of these deals because of ebooks an...

Re: How many of you write while tipsy?

Since quitting drinking, my work has sailed. Never thought it would work like that. Was diagnosed with ADD as an adult, though. Dr. prescribed ritalin changed my creative life. Until then, I had started hundreds of ms, never finished one. Wrote my first novel and secured representation in nine month...
