Re: Question for the Aussies

Christmas is awesome - no matter what the weather is like. On a normal Aussie chrissy, my boyfriend and I alternate between our families in the mornings. Generally, the kids get some pretty active presents so we usually end up playing footy/running around with nerf guns/riding motorbikes while we sc...

Strap a reindeer to Nathan's desk chair and I'm up for some sleigh races.

Also Margo, I think the space monkeys have taken over the tree decorations...

I also totally agree on the whole vampire thing. The whole brooding, hunky vampire with sensitivity issues is starting to grate on my nerves. It almost makes you want to stake them.
That's why my MC does stake them. And shoot them. And blow them up.

I'm a peaceful person. Really...

Re: MATCHED!

I just started reading the book and I'm only up to chapter six but so far I'm really enjoying it. I only opened it to read the first few pages to get a feel for the writing and I didn't even realise I had gone further than I meant to. That is the sign of a good book. I don't know if I'm going to enj...

Yeah, I wish they'd stop doing that. :P

And yeah, it is a bad habit they've developed...

Re: Must Read For Those About To Query

Thanks, Down the well! That was heaps useful!
Whether we think agents should personalize or not, it doesn't change a thing - we need one. This blog just puts all the contradictions into one big basket for us to choose from.

Re: Is this a joke?? Nathan? Really?

I've only just found out; talk about delayed reactions. But wow... I don't know why but suddenly the world of publishing seems so empty. And now you've made Mira sad, which makes me really sad. I guess that's the last time we party in your office then. All the same, I'm glad you'll be sticking aroun...

Re: Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld, sequel to Leviathan

I finally got my copy of Leviathan today, in it's amazing hardcover edition - Australia doesn't have Behemoth yet. It is currently sitting on my bookshelf, taunting me with it's awesomeness. I have work tomorrow, then I have to finish Crescendo (which sudden;y doesn't seem so great) and then I can f...

I'm all signed up and (sort of) ready to go. I'm aiming for the 50K but if I get it, it will be in the ballpark of a miracle.

My birthday is on November 24th so I've decided that's my deadline for NaNo. If I make it, I'll shout myself a party for early December. A really big one.

Re: What Is It about Bad Boys?

Bad boys just work. Most people spend the majority of their lives trying to figure out where they stand in the world whereas the 'bad boy' seems to have it already figured out. He doesn't give a damn about societal rules (they're only there to be broken, after all) and it's this lack of inhibition t...

Re: Nathan's on vacay. Should we have a party? Maybe a ball?

I could just picture a warthog with reading glasses and toupee, lounging at Nathan's desk, awaiting his return.

Hmm... somehow I think we've turned Mira's fantabulous ball into a circus...

Re: Nathan's on vacay. Should we have a party? Maybe a ball?

Wow. Old Spice Guy. Second time I've seen him this week; he certainly picks the big events. I'm glad those office decorations have mysteriously reappeared, Nathan's office was looking so bare without them. And those staplers? Just try and stop Margo. So guys, last few days without Captain Wonderbar ...
