On a positive note I would say that finding an agent is like pieces of a puzzle. When you find the right one, it fits beautifully.

My opinion is that the book industry is a lot like the music industry. You can have the perfect voice but if the agent is having a bad hair day, or they don't like your font, or maybe your query is not perfect, then they form reject you.
