Ups and Downs

So I'm still querying. My full is still out there and from the web it looks like she takes 3-4 months with them so I'm trying to be patient. Yesterday though I sent out a couple of queries. Within about 30 seconds I had a response to see more. Last night I re-read everything and sent it out and this...

Re: Query for FURY (HELP!!!) (New version)

No one could love a face like hers. The Fae’len shapeshifter , Fury , long ago learned to cloak the yearnings of her human heart with an animal skin. But when a green-eyed warrior, Caden, shatters the curse that has mutilated her body, she believes that she has finally found the man destined to lov...

Re: Starting to Query

Thanks everyone. I checked online the other day and it says this agents "normal" response time on requested material is 3-4 months. *sigh*

I'm trying to distract myself by writing more!

Re: Seeking feedback on my Rejected Query

I agree. It will be very difficult to get help if you don't post what your query actually is. We haven't read the story so we can't help you describe what happens, and if you're covering things up in the query then everything is vague. If you want help, you should post what you would send to an agen...

Re: Query: Isabella Vampirella Revision

Thanks. It's out on a request right now (so I guess the query worked, I did go more back to my original BTW) and I am freaking out! I really hope she says yes. *fingers crossed*

Re: Starting to Query

I'm going to lose all dignity for a moment:

I am FREAKING OUT! The agent confirmed receipt on the full and I'm going to have a freaking nervous breakdown while she reads it. Please say yes, please please please....

Ok, dignity is restored. I can be a grown up again. :-)

Re: Query Mallory's Story- Rip it apart. :D

Dear Mr. Awesome Agent, Sometimes the dead haunt the living, and sometimes, the living hurt the dead. For a wandering spirit named Mallory Richards, every day hurts. (The first two sentences are awkward. At first I thought that there may be a necromancer or ghost buster type person that was hurting...

Re: Starting to Query

Very true. You know, I was thinking about it the other day. It's like applying for new jobs and you send out your resume and hope to god they call you for an interview. Then you hope you do ok on the interview. Then if miracles of miracles happen and you get the job, you worry about getting through ...

Starting to Query

Ok, so I'm just starting to query agents and now I'm avoiding my email like the plague. LOL! I would almost rather get no response than a "no" response, know what I mean?

Anyone stressing out with me?

Re: THE DRIFTER - Query

Dear... For sixteen-year-old Pip, knowing everyone’s time of death is growing tiresome. Especially when she can’t prevent it. Because one day, someone’s going to know that she could have prevented their loved one’s deaths. (This doesn't make a lot of sense. If she can't prevent it, she can't preven...

Re: Prologue Critique Please -- YA Fiction

It sounds interesting so far. I'd keep reading. I don't see anything young adult about it yet but I'm assuming that's just because it's the prologue.
