Re: How do you get yourself to write?

It applies to everything from writing to dancing to painting and every creative endeavor. My favorite part comes near the end, where she talks about the or...

Re: LABOR DAY WEEKEND WRITE-OFF

Why not? We're making the rules here, right? LOL

Just limit yourself to a 72-hour period to get 'er done, and then post your results after Labor Day. :) Thanks for playing along, Robin!

Asphyxiating Alliteration

Now I love witty alliteration just as much as the next girl, but I just finished a novel with so many forced examples it was laughable. If done badly or overdone, alliteration pulls me out of the story. There's a lesson in moderation here. Restraint and Skill. If you're using four adjectives or adv...

Pacing & the Passage of Time

Is the phrase "pacing" referring solely to the amount of action/reveal happening per chapter? Or does it also deal with the passage of time (in the story not in the amount of pages between)? I've just been thinking a lot lately about transitions between scenes, what's important to mention...

My understanding is that you can reference any company/brand as a point of reference or setting; however, you'd want to be careful in two respects: 1. In any way defaming the institution. 2. Dating your work. Of course this is different than full-on quoting large passages of copyrighted material - c...
