Re: Reading Rate?
Read a 391 page book in 4.5 hours yesterday. My family was very amused. They say I consume books rather than read them. CV I'm there with you. I can read a 300+ book in as little as 3 hours. My husband says I don't enjoy them because I read them too fast. It's not that, it's just that I get so into...

Re: Foreign Language
I seriously hope none of the above since I have a character who speaks in Spanish from time to time, just a little here and there.

Re: Music or quiet when you write?
Music, I need it to concentrate. I open my iTunes and just let it play all my songs. It helps me work better.

Re: Have you ever been inspired by a song?
Yes, I have. I love to listen to music when I'm driving or at work and sometimes I listen to the lyrics and suddenly a scene flashes through my mind and I get a whole new idea for another story. I think 2 of my MS were born like that, hehe.

Re: Copywritten or not??
I would say it's okay if you're just saying that the character is listening to the latest hit of X artist or you want to see the movie of X actor or that he/she looks like X things like that. Just as you don't cause any libel it's okay. I have mentioned popular songs in my MS and movies too and othe...

Re: Switching POVs = manuscript death?
I've read many books that are in 1st & 3rd POV and personally I prefer them to just 1st POV. As a reader I get bored if there's only one POV. It has to be a very good plot for it to keep my attention. But that's just me.

Re: Comfort books
This may not be comfort perse, because it's a long read but I'd say I like to revisit Don Quixote de la Mancha from Miguel de Cervantes. My dad has always said you need to read that book at least 3x in your life, once in your 20's, once in your 40's and then in your 60's. He says everytime you read ...

Re: Copywritten or not??
I asked my professor and said there's no problem mentioning brand names. You are only mentioning, you're not making money out of it, and yes libel is the only thing you need to watch out for. Hope that helped.

Re: how many projects do you work on at a time?
Okay now I don't want to post after reading the post that comes before this one (Robena Grant). For the record, listen to what she wrote, I'm a lost cause, a lunatic? - yes, probably. I am working, when I say working means I wrote a scene a couple of ours ago on one story. That said I have 5 other s...

Re: Me time, shme time
Well... I think it used to be okay for me to disappear whenever I got a new book, because my husband knows I have to read it immediately. When I started writing he understood and never ever complained about it. That said, I have a 6 month old baby now so disappearing is pretty much impossible unless...

Re: What are you writing now?
I don't know where to start, I have written and erased this post a couple of times. Okay this is it: I have 1 MS done (1st revision). I have 2 almost complete MS, 2 halfway finished MS and 2 MS that are in the beginning stages. These are all contemporary romance. Now before everyone thinks I'm crazy...

Re: Copywritten or not??
I can tell you this, I've read a lot of books with brand names in there. I'm actually taking a class on intelectual property and we are right now on brand names (called trademarks) and to be sure and give you a true answer I will ask my professor. P.S. - I LOL about the writing a hip-hop song commen...
