Re: Can you read while you write?

I can't both read and write novels at the same time...if I'm writing or editing I'll probably read one of the classics, financial books or biographies or something. But novels is a big no no, I'm afraid of subconsciously writing like the author of the book I'm reading, especially if it's an author I...

Re: Music or quiet when you write?

I much prefer the quiet when writing and editing though when I do listen to music, it has to be classical and very low at that. It's the only time I get to listen to classical music anyway lol

If I listen to music with words I'll just find myself singing along instead of writing or editing.

Re: Capital Letters or not in speech?

Wow thanks a bunch guys! No Capital Letters 1-0 to Capital Letters!! Will see how it pans out though it's true that if you do it too much, it gets annoying!

LOL at Dankrubis! That's classic!

Capital Letters or not in speech?

What are your views on capital letters used in speech dialogue to show the character is shouting or excited? Good or bad?

Say for example. "GOAL!" He roared in delight.

Or

"WHAT?" He demanded.

Is that okay?

Copywritten or not??

I've reached the stage of editing my novel and I'm a tad perplexed as to some of the description that is needed... For example can one say - driving a Ferrari or do you have to say an expensive Italian sports car? - drinking from a bottle of Jack Walker or just whiskey? - listening to Jay-Z or liste...
