Re: Me time, shme time
Oh gosh Lydia that reminds me of when our company first acquired a PC. The normal processing was at that time done by a mainframe computer that had its own building . So this new toy that was a PC and ran on DOS had its own little room known as The PC Room and we all walked around with huge floppy d...

Re: Reading Rate?
It's hard to say - I haven't timed my reading since I had to read a huge amount of books for English Lit. Then it was about two minutes a page. Re: Comfort books
Some of my favourite comfort books are:
Mission - Patrick Tilley. I reread it every Easter.
Any of Robert Heinlein's Lazerus Long novels.
And when I'm really too weary to engage in new material, Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series or Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.

Re: Recommendations: How to Books on Fiction Writing
Larry Brooks - Story Structure - Demystified. It's an ebook and absolutely brilliant. Randy Ingermanson - Writing Fiction for Dummies Janet Evanovich - How I Write David Madden - Revising Fiction. I don't know whether it's still in print. I borrowed it from the library so often that I figured I'd be...

Changeling by Yasmine Galenorn and Fire Me Up by Katie MacAlister.
Just finished Gabaldon's Born in the Bone and hoping she hurries up and writes another.

Re: American dialogue
It would be nice if there was a sort of babelfish translator online for this kind of issue. I'm trying to do Australian-speak for one of my characters but all I've come up with so far is "G'day" and "Don't come the raw prawn". The latter is probably hopelessly outdated and anyone...
