Re: Sending a Self-Published Book to a Potential Agent
This was just the advice from one agent, but Eddie Schneider with Jabberwocky said that if you haven't sold 10,000 copies you don't even need to mention that it's self-published. That was just for him, but I thought that was interesting. He said that in an AMA in the r/fantasy reddit.

Re: Do you have a new blog post?
Last weekend at the World Fantasy Convention, I had a 65-minute conversation with Michael A. Stackpole about the state of publishing and ebooks. We also talked about ebook pricing (and J.A. Konrath), business advice for writers, and some practical subjects like free samples and book trailers. Voila!...

I agree, Mira. It's going to be neat when this information is out there and we really know the specifics about ebooks.

Nielsen BookScan to Track Ebook Sales by the End of 2010?
I know it's normally not kosher to start a thread about one of your own blog posts, but I ran this topic by Nathan first and he suggested posting here. Here's my recent post: Nielsen BookScan to Track Ebook Sales by the End of 2010? The most interesting thing about all of this for me is that transpa...

Ha! Go go gadget Google alerts! The Braves are the team I follow the most in pro sports, so it's great to see them back in the postseason again. I'm looking forward to a great series between the Braves and Giants, a series that could be very low scoring. Old school baseball! Bring on the pitching du...

My first news feature at AdventuresInSciFiPublishing has gone up here, and it's also repeated on my blog.
It was a lot of fun to write, and there's some humor in there.

Why Doubting Yourself Can Kill You http://sciencefictionfantasybooks.net/why-doubting-yourself-can-kill-you/ I posted some excerpts from a brilliant blog post by Devon Monk, and then riffed on it: As writers, we have to be able to edit ourselves and to read our own work from the point of view of so...

Today, I blogged about how to write a great author bio, and your favorite gay boys from In Living Color's 'Men on Film' made a guest appearance:
Let's Talk About Bios, Baby. Let's Talk About You and Me.

“I don’t see why this book is so fabulous. I would give it a zero. I find no point in writing a book about segregation, there’s no way of making it into an enjoyable book. And yes I am totally against segregation.”

Re: Best Fantasy Books
Here are a couple of quick, fun reads I've recently enjoyed from some lesser known authors.
Adam Slade, A Reaper's Tale (also for Kindle)
Michael J Sullivan's series. The first one is called, The Crown Conspiracy.
