My novels always grow substantially because the first draft doesn't take into account all the cool plot twists nor the heavy emotional bits. Check your Publish America contract. Do they have first right of refusal on your next book? If so, you're got a problem. I don't think I'd mention your previously PA pubbed book to an agent. Start over with a fresh story and move on from there. Unless that PA book won multiple awards and was serious...

Where I would be astounded to be offered such a huge deal, if I was a new author I'd be pretty freaked by it. I'm a fan of the slow build. No matter what, it's great to see such enthusiasm for the genre, especially for those of us who swim in that pond.
