Re: The Current Trend of Using Action Noun Titles
I don't like the titles you've listed except Inception (it worked well for that movie), they feel too generic to me, but I do like some single word titles like Twilight and Matched and Soulless. I also like titles like Crime and Punnishment, Pride and Prejudice, and War and Peace. I like titles that...
Re: Les Mis
I read the unabridged version of Les Mis. The book was amazing, so much deeper than the musical which I also loved. Really it was one of the best books I've ever read in my life. So read it. :) Honestly, I think you should read the abridged. There are long passages in the book that are purely philos...

Re: HELP ME!!!
There is also The Ringer. The series on WB staring Sarah Michelle Gellar. I haven't seen it, but from what I understand the bad twin takes the good twin's identity only to find out that the good twin really isn't that good.

In Lost, Mr. Eko is dressed as a priest to do a drug run on a small airplane. His brother, who is a priest, comes to warn him that the police or military are on their way to arrest him. His brother gets shot and dies, and Mr. Eko takes his place as a priest.

Re: Family interference
I have a husband and two kids. My husband is working on getting his PhD right now so he's usually not available to help me with our kids. I've learned to juggle my time. But they are a little older now. When they were young, it was hard to find time to write. But if I had to choose between writing ...

Re: POV - 3rd person slipping to omni??
I don't think there is anything wrong POV-wise. But do you really need " as everbody contemplated what they had just heard." I think that is shown just fine by the room being silent. What else would they being doing besides thinking over what they had just heard? So honestly, I'd just do w...
Re: Scene
I've had a hard time with setting the scene too, and I've worked really hard on it. My last beta reader complimented me on it, so I think I'm getting better. I did a blog posting on it; here is a link . I go in a bit more detail, but realy I think it is about seeing the surroundings from the POV cha...

Re: Writers with Small Children
My kids are 6 and 4 now, but I started writing when just before my second one was born. You sneak the time in when you can (I write at night), but be realistic and don't beat yourself up if you aren't getting the progress you want from writing. Even if you only write a page a day, it will add up. Yo...

Re: Protagonist blog idea
My only caution is that it needs to be very clear that this is not a real person. People don't like to feel duped. Other than that, go for it. Could be fun.

Re: Character Differentiation
The way I nail down a character is backstory. To me, real people aren't a list of traits but are shaped through their experiences. Delving into their family life and childhood always helps me discover who that character really is even if none of it shows up in the text. I suggest thinking about the ...

Re: wanna make the innocent looking sis a bad guy
There is a million ways to do this, and Mira asks a lot of great questions. I think it boils down to who took the MC's sibling and why. Then you can figure out why Marci would help the villian, if she is even Marci.
Good luck with this. It sounds like an interesting story.
