Re: Major Blunder with New E-Book

Um... what? A million words? Yeah, that's too long. I've read all the books in the Wheel of Time and greatly enjoyed them. I would never have bought the first one if it included everything all in one work. I prefer to consume things in bite-size chunks. Besides, what do you sell that for? Th...

Re: Quill Publishes on Amazon

As far as promos, the occasional free day on Kindle Select has done a bit for me. I think getting more releases is key, too. I just put out another short story, I'm putting out a novel on Sunday, and a novella next month. So yeah, you need both quality and quantity. Most of the writers I network wi...

Re: Quill Publishes on Amazon

I published book 1 in February, and that short story in August, so I was actually pretty slow. I do, in fact, need to get titles out much more quickly to build an audience. I hope to release book 2 in October (yup just a few weeks from now). Otherwise, even with some good reviews, sales have slowed ...

Re: Think Tank: Fashioning an "approved" stamp

Lol, Hillsy. Prefacing a rant by saying it's not intended to be well-thoughtout is an unusual tactic. To be honest, I did kind of lose whatever point you were trying to make, so I'll focus on the first one. On Amazon, for example, you can only choose two categories. Common strategy on this is to cho...

Re: Think Tank: Fashioning an "approved" stamp

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm cool with letting readers sort through all the books to find the books they want to read. They do it with You-tube and I-tunes. and it seems to work okay. If people are concerned that folks aren't familiar with what quality literature is, however, I think that's a...

Re: Synopsis and Bio?

I've been writing and rewriting my query letter (and getting feedback in the forum) and now as I research agents I see the word "synopsis" being used. Is that really just what the heart of the query letter is being called? Also, many mention a bio...I have no background in writing or really any "qu...

Amber Lynn Natusch, an Indie bestseller, wrote a review of Curse of Witch and War.

Makes me smile. Now I just need to gather some more reviews.
