Re: The 'Am I Crazies'
I have those days! I just give up on writing for the day, immerse myself in anything else where I don't have to function (cleaning my house it the current favorite) and sleep it off. The old adage is so right. I'm hardly ever as nutts in the morning .

Re: When someone inspires a character
I agree with sommer lee. My best friend influenced a character in a short I wrote. Feeling safe sharing that with her, I mentioned it in a casuel conversation. Instead of thinking about the trait she immediatly took the greater tone of the short as something against her personally. Luckily the whole...

I'm a teller at a bank. It's probably close to a care giver job. I get to see people at thier worst and try to help them sort out the good and bad decisions that they made. Oh yes, and people get to yell at me. A lot. Another reason to hope that someday writing will pay the bills!

Re: My Self-Publishing Experiment - Initial Results.
This is so interesting to read. I've always been a big proponent of the traditional publishing route, but my little sister had become a devoted disciple of Joe Konrath and she's been urging me to broaden my perspective. Now I've been trying to figure out how I can learn the mechanics of it without f...

Oh my gosh, I'm so behind. I've been pushing myself to do 6K a day just to catch up! You guys are real troopers to get so much done. I'm at 2K6205 words and that's after only 1K today (5k left!!!!!). Thanks for being serious kicks in the butt to get rolling.

Re: Game of Thrones
This is really hard for me to answer becuase I feel two ways about them. I started reading Game of Thrones this summer becuase I'd heard about the TV show, and within 20 pages I was hooked. I galloped through it and waited for weeks to get the second one from the library. A friend took pity on me an...

Re: NANOWRIMO~!
I'm doing it this year! I signed up last year, but a new job starting Nov. 4th got in the way and resulted in all of 7000 words. I'm so ready for this year! I have a draft that just needs a bunch of words thrown on it.

Re: Old fashioned dialogue
I have to confess, I actually avoid older sounding language. I go with something the writer of a knight's tale said, which paraphrased goes something like this- just because it seems old fashioned to us doesn't mean it seemed old fashioned to them. Good luck with figuring out your balance!

I write YA fantasy, but I'm tempted to branch out. I just haven't gotten the nerve yet!

Re: divorcee vs. ex-wife, space aliens
Hey, I'd love to help. I'm in the middle of massive rewrites so it wouldn't be equal sharing, although I'd be more then willing to hit you up when I've got something readable. My dad left me with a love of space opera so I'd really like to help get another one out there!
