Does one's first novel necessarily become a drawer novel? I read all the time about the writer who sweats and struggles over his or her first novel only to realize at some point down the road that it belongs at the bottom of a drawer. Yes! That's what I'm working on now. And it does seem tougher to find forums, blogs, etc. that focus on literary/mainstream.
