Re: Google Reader – Going, going – GONE!

It sucks so much that Google is shutting it down. I've yet to see any alternative that worked as nicely as Google Reader + iGoogle (which is also going). Think I may just build my own, bleh

Re: Do you have to listen to /everything/ a beta says?

I think everyone already gave a lot of great advice, so I'll just add that if you are looking for critiques, maybe sign up with Critique Circle and Scribophile. I've gotten great feedback for stuff on both sites. I like Scribophile's format better (and you can do more as a free member + they allow p...

Re: How do you like to use Goodreads?

I've tried Goodreads twice and both times I gave up on it after a day. It just didn't work for me for how I like to work with my books/reading and I absolutely hated trying to deal with how they handle serial works like manga and light novel series. Trying to import my entire collection of over 1000...

Re: What's your best social media site?

Did you mean social networking? If so, for me it's: 1. Facebook - open almost all the time when I'm online 2. LiveJournal - read daily, post weekly or more often 3. YouTube - regularly watch, less often sharing 4. Flickr - image uploading/sharing 5. LinkedIn - business, maybe post or visit 1-2 times...

Re: Why do you want to be published or why do you write?

For me, I write because I have stories in me that drive me half mad unless I tell them in some fashion. It's been like that since middle school - all these stories and characters jumping up, introducing themselves, and 'showing" me their stories that I try to translate to some written form. (at...

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

The end of NaNo 2012 nears...how is everyone doing?

I'm currently at 38,795, so a little behind, but we have two write-ins to go and I feel pretty confident I'll make it to 50k. Though I've also come to realize that at 50k I'll only be just starting the second half of my novel @_@

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

Currently 2600 words behind or so, and unlikely to write much else tonight. Not terribly worried though. I usually catch up during the 6 hr Sunday write ins :-)

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

First write in was awesome, 17 people showed plus 2-3 online. Like twice as many as last year :-)

I'm ridiculously exhausted, but happy. And managed to get 1670 words in myself.

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

Our kick off party is from 8-10:30pm, but I know several of my folks are planning to stick around to midnight to get in their first words :-) I have work at 7 am, so I'm going to leave before midnight, but will probably do my first few words after midnight before going to bed LOL

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

Project : A Novel Word Count Goal : 50,000 - but get bonus points if I actually finish the whole thing I don't twit (tweet?) :) I'm a semi-rebel this year - this was my first (and second) NaNo project - got 24k words across two years, and never finished it. It's my only total NaNo failure (I had on...

Re: NaNoWriMo 2012 - Prep

Agreed....as I put in my intro to NaNo doc - you only "fail" if you don't try at all. Even if you don't make it to 50k, if you give it your best and you end up with something, that is still more than you started with :-)

Re: NaNoWriMo 2012 - Prep

Oh yeah, I'm in and still MLing as well :-) This year I'll be a rebel ML as I'm turning my attention back to the first novel I worked on my first two NaNo's, and my only total NaNo failure! I've also had the story in mind a long long time, so I really want to get it told :-) For prep, I've reviewing...
