Re: Can you suggest good books with multiple POVs?

Cum Laude by Cecily Von Zeigesar. (though I found it distracting.)

Re: Peeta Vs. Gale

Just finished book two. took me three days and that's short for me. Peeta all the way! Yes, we know Katniss has loved Gale from the start but I just think the author has invsted too much time into Peeta, and has the whole readership loving him, to have Katniss just dump him in the end. Unless he die...

Re: So who's entering Nathan's first page contest?

I think anyone who entered and that is their only forum post shouldn't be able to be picked, but that's just me. I'm prickly like that. But it's not just a contest for this exclusive "forum family." It' for anyone who reads Nathan's blog. I read it every day and come to the forums very of...

Re: Nominate Your First Page for a Critique on the Blog

Title: The Rose genre: contemporary YA (248 words) Somewhere between the second and third stories of the brownstone, as he held on Spiderman-style to the building’s brick façade, Jonathan Kienholz decided he was either the most romantic guy on the planet or the stupidest. All he had was one more fli...

Voice and YA

All the experts out there seem to agree that one of the most important elements in a YA novel is voice voice voice. And though "voice" is a pretty difficult thing to explain, my loose interpretation of what it is is a certain attitude behind the narrative. Something that not only tells the...

Re: Should you share your writing before it's finished?

I've been stuck writing this book going on three years now but as soon as I showed my best friend the first few chapters everyhing's changed. I'm reinvigorated by the reaction I'm geting from the story and her feedback is helping me think up new, richer ideas as I go along. It's been tremendouly hel...

Re: Ask Nathan

Hello again! Question about a YA query: My novel is geared towards the more mature/older YA reader (ala Gossip Girl and the Sloppy Firsts series), is this something I ought to mention in my query? I don't want to alient potential agents by proposing that it's only for a certain type of teenager but ...

Re: Ask Nathan

Hi Nathan,

My book is written through the perspective of three characters (in close third). Would it be considered misleading if my query letter only focuses on one of these characters? I explain the whole story in the letter but I do it thorugh this one character's perspective.

Thanks for the help!
