Re: Super Sad True Agent Story
Right on.
I get the impression that you got the fire in you to write, so write.
The time spent by the mail box is better invested on writing. Same with phone calling. Submit and forget.
Get well,
Marsh

Short Story / 600 words
When 8th grader Sandra loses her solo part right before the National Choir competition to a 6th grader, Sandra schemes to get it back. I think it has problems, but I can't see where. This is officially draft #3. Does anyone have the time to give me feedback on this shortie? I can critique in exchang...

Re: Need some Mojo
You don't need mojo at all.
Just write.
It might all look all wrong, but just go one word at a time until you're done. Get the draft done.
If you've been running on mojo for the entire story so far and now just ran out, you're really lucky and inspired.

Re: Do 99-Cent E-books attract the wrong kind of reader?
Then there was the fact that I wanted to cultivate a loyal following and most people who expect ebooks to be 99 cents aren’t that loyal. They’re shopping by price as their main deciding factor. I just don’t want those readers. Anybody that price sensitive just isn’t the demographic I’m going after....

You don't. They find you. Or, at least, someone with information about that child finds you.

Re: Could self-promotion through social media be a bad thing?
I've heard a lot of talk about branding. Personality, work, blogging, can all seem to contribute to a brand. I'm not sure exactly how social media hooks into branding, but it looks like it does. Also, I'd imagine an author that works hard to make people read his work for his reasons is going to wind...

Re: Okay, what about short stories?
I'm sure it's a matter of putting the Google search bar to work to find journals to submit your short story to. I doubt publishing short stories are a good way to pad a query letter provided there is a good way to pad a query letter. If you still want to write short stories, just take it one word at...

I like that Anthony took a lunch break when visiting his grandma's grave. Peaks interest.
I didn't catch anything enjoyable about the characters in that short encounter, more mystery about the digging.

Re: Great Gatsby Video Game
I just did a play through of it last night. There's something really satisfying about throwing a hat at a dancing flapper and then they die.I saw this on a tech blog I read all the time. I think it looks awesome :-)
