Re: ComiCon

I wished I would have went. Most of my favorite cartoonist were and I would have loved to meet them in person. However, I needed to stay home for school related reasons. I, too, have always loved ComiCon from a far. I hope one day I would be able to go.

Character Flaw

Guys, I have a problem. I have this character that has a major flaw of being a glutton. The character is female and I thought it would be a good way to show that she's not perfect (she hooked on this one food because she associates it with a bad event in her life and her story is about her she learn...

Re: Best Books on grammar/tense/world building?

For grammar, a spectrum of style manuals, dictionaries, English usage dictionaries, and grammar handbooks are available. U.S. English prose publishers generally use Chicago Manual of Style , Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary , and Webster's Dictionary of English Usage . The Little Brown Handbook...

Best Books on grammar/tense/world building?

Hello, everyone.

I was wondering what the best books on the subject of tense. Tense is my number one weakness and while my grammar is not all that bad I still think there's room for improvement. I also need a lot of help when it comes to world building. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advances,

Mud

Re: Self-Publishing Con?

What does the ad say? Thanks for the link, Mr.Bransford, but I still think I'm going to pass on self-publishing my books. I guess I'm still hoping that maybe someday I will write something that will get an agent's attention. I hate to double post, but I would like to add that my book is a picture b...

Mudpuppy - I actually like Belle. The one I don't like much is Jasmine. I find her sort of irritating.

I do want to add I have a soft spot for the old guy in "Up". And the little girl in "Monster's Inc."
Yes, Pixar makes some great movies. :)

Re: Hello from a grad student

I'm no expert on self-publishing. However, a friend of mine sent me to this site awhile back.

Perhaps it may help. If not, Mr. Gaughran has a wonderful site that might be helpful for your search.

Self-Publishing Con?

Hi, guys, I have a silly question to ask. A friend of mine came across an ad in the local paper saying "We will publish you book!" She saids I should give it a shot. I'm not so sure about it, especially after reading some of the posts on Writers Beware. I want a second opinion on this: I am I overre...

I hate to double post, but lol, Quill, that's a good one. Should we hit the "report button"?

Re: Favorite Animation Character

Embarrassing to admit, but I have a soft spot for the Disney Princesses. Ariel may be my favorite.... Ariel is my favorite as well. I can't say the same for the Frog Princess (I have not seen the movie and really, despite the marketing put into it, I don't plan to anytime soon). I know I'm going to...
