Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

Sorry Sommer, I just disagree, I think there's no value in not writing the story you want to, and there's a ton of books out there that bypass those wordcount limits, all of varying 'subjective' quality (I'm pretty sure Gail Martin's The summoner is over 120K, and I didn't think much of that at all...

Re: Question about using real places in WIPs

There are plenty of popular books that use real settings. I don't think you should have a problem.

Re: Soundtrack?

Figured I'd jump back in and share the soundtrack for my WIP. (Though it's a little longer than everyone else's) This soundtrack is on odd combo of rock, and emotional instrumental combination, but I feel like it really gets the mood of my WIP. 1. Air for Life (With Andy Moore) - Above & Beyond ...

Re: Self published author newly looking for an agent

Mira is right. Unless you're posting ridiculously high sales numbers for a self-pubbed book, (like, maybe 1,000/month and upwards) They probably won't be interested.

Re: Tears

I think I aim more for breaking the reader's heart, than for getting them to cry. what I mean by that - I want to the writing to be so poignant, it breaks their heart. If I could do that, that would be so....AWESOME. I think this is a better way to say what my goal, and my ending, is like. CV

Re: Soundtrack?

Always. It's hard for me to write without a soundtrack. And then I listen to it in the car as well so my mind can be subconsciously working.

Tears

I just wrote the ending of my WIP. I'm not done yet, but I wrote the last bit. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make people cry. I'm also pretty sure that I'm a horrible person for wanting to make people cry. I want to finish it now ASAP so I can test it out! Do you crave making your audience cry? CV
