Re: Query: THE COLOR OF THE SOUL

I love the first two paragraphs. I agree with the comment on the first sentence. The flow is beautiful. It sets the tone of the story perfectly. Again I must agree about the comments on the last paragraph. It's a little over the top. I know an agent wants the see a self confidence in your letter but...

Rewrite. This is actually what I've got as the blur, but it might work as a query. Dear Agent. In search of a story to launch his career, young journalist Tyson Palmer finds one in the ramblings of a homeless man who accuses a self-help organization of setting fires to eliminate those who speak out ...

Dear Agent: I am a fictional character, a figment of the author’s imagination. I have gone by many names. First page of THE FOLLOWING (psychological thriller)

First page of my new novel,The Following. This goes with the query post of the same name.Any input is appreciated. Four minutes seemed like an eternity. Twice as long as it should've taken. Here is my revised query. Thanks for your input. Dear (agent): Tyson Palmer is a risk taker, and as a young journalist who would do anything to break his first big story, he is about to take the biggest risk of his life. When three seemingly unrelated fires within two weeks are ruled to be arson, Ty...

Very nice cover. Did you design it yourseflf? I like the trailer but there is one issue I can see with it, or can't see. In some places the text is difficult to see against the background. Overall Very Nice.

Re: My Self-Publishing Experiment - Initial Results.

My first novel, Irrefutable, has been on Amazon.com as an e-book for about three weeks, since 5/24/2011 So far I have only sold 13 copies and 1 copy on Smashwords. It has received good reviews so far but the visibility is still minimal. Any comments on my cover are welcome. Dale http://www.amazon.co...

Re: Query: IRREFUTABLE

Here is my FINAL version of this query. I've cooked it down to the bare essentials. Less is more. Dear (Agent): For Detective Alex Mendez, a routine rape investigation becomes a nightmare when DNA evidence pegs him as the culprit. When a rapist attacks three local women, Alex follows the trail of DN...

Re: Query letter for "Born to Bondage"

I am by no means an expert, but the opening paragraph is dripping with lack of confidence. I found it a complete turn off. Never point out your weaknesses right off the bat. Never make excuses or say anything negative about your work. (I see you cringing, please don't. I'm told it doesn't read as lo...
