Re: Strangely Quiet

It has been really quiet. I pop in every now and then and haven't seen much activity. I finished a major overhaul of my novel before Christmas, and I took the holidays off to recharge and catch up on some reading. I'm now going back to my NaNo novel of last year to clean it up and flesh it out. Ther...

Re: Official NaNoWriMo 2012 Thread

I'm trying my hand at writing a middle grade book this year. I plan to have the book around 30K, which means I'll have to work on something else to meet the 50K goal. I'll probably go back to last years project, which is a complete mess at the moment. Heh. I'll be on twitter doing sprints too. My ha...

Re: What T.V. shows are you watching?

I think Doctor Who is the only currently airing show I watch consistently. Although I do love Psych, White Collar, and Supernatural. My time has been spent watching Buffy re-runs. I love Buffy. I've been watching a lot of Asian dramas too. I like that each show is only about 20 episodes, and the plo...

Re: How many Characters do you have?

In my current wip, a lot.

3 main
2 antagonists
15-20 supporting characters
Probably another 20 or so named characters

However, my story spans 30 years and a world war.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2012 - Prep

I'm in this year. I plan on writing a middle grade book which I figure will be less than 50K. I have the basic idea down, but I'm mostly going to wing it.

Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

I'm going to second White Cat, Feed, Leviathan, and John Green (especially The Fault in Our Stars). And add: Angelfall by Susan Ee The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater Above by Leah Bobet And I know it's not contemporary, but I really loved the Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I didn't add Angelfall b...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

Congrats Brenda, and BLARGH. I can't find a decent YA book that doesn't read like "Textbook paranormal girl who doesn't want to be noticed finds AMAZING BEAUTIFUL BOY" While this is probably very true, remember that you are not the primary audience for these books. :-) OK I finally sat do...

Re: Do you ever sleep on it?

Yes! Having it by the bed is a major sleep saver. I also have a waterproof notepad for the shower. Even better, grease pencil. Write on the walls of the shower. Won't wash off till you want it to, and no paper. CV Hmm. Interesting. I like having the paper though, because A.) A lot of the stuff I wr...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

I didn't actually "do" the coffee shop June, so I'm ready to get comfortable for the July one! I'm suffering with a bout of the "Am I Crazies" right now. I just don't feel good enough :( Sorry to be a downer. It seems to be going around! In June I finished my draft. I would thin...
