Amazon tells me mine is in the mail, so I guess it will roll up in about a week or so. And then I will have to fight with my seven year old nephew, who wants to read it first.
I'm the faster reader, I should get it first, right?

Re: Amazon Germany
I've used Amazon Germany before. I can't remember what I wanted, but it was something I couldn't find either on Amazon US or UK. It was all a bit exciting, because I wasn't entirely sure what would show up in the mail! But yes, thanks to a free translation website I managed not to flub the order!

Re: Let's Discuss Edward...
Twilight was not my thing at all, but only because I love scary vampire stories, and the Cullens just weren't scary. At all. And, like Falls Apart, I didn't really like Bella as a heroine. She spent way too long pining over a boy, and I personally dislike stories where the doomed (or not so doomed) ...

Re: Zombie-Proof House!!!
That is brilliant! My house, sadly, is very susceptible to zombie attack. In the event of the Zombie Apocalypse I will have to escape by balloon.

Re: Do you "warm up" before writing?
The problem with warming up by checking out everyone's awesome blogs is that suddenly it's three hours later, and you still haven't written anything. Or maybe that's just me... I warm up by making a drink, finding the right playlist, and telling myself that there is nothing else I would rather be do...

I'm reading "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War" at the moment. Is that the sort of thing you mean?

OT: Queensland floods
Hi guys, It's not exactly procrastination, but I was hoping all of you with with blogs might help to spread the word about the Queensland floods. The flooding now covers an area larger than France and Germany combined, and larger than Texas. Today four people died in Toowoomba, and three children we...

Re: Question for the Aussies
Hi Jaime, Aww, Jenemb, I hope your house hasn't been washed away! :( My house is still here! I'm in Townsville, a good few hours north of the massive flooding. We always get moderate flooding during the wet season, but nothing like what they're seeing down south at the moment. It looks fairly bad. I...

Re: Question for the Aussies
With seafood and wine! I live in the tropics, so Christmas Day is always stinking hot. Strangely, most of our Christmas cards have snow and winter scenes on them, so we're conditioned to want a white Christmas from an early age. Like most years, I'm stuck working nights, so our Christmas tradition i...

Writing Game!
Because at the moment I'm sick of doing real writing, I've decided to take a break and just have fun. You know, how writing used to be before I was trying to be any good at it! So I've made up a game to keep my brain ticking over during the festive season, and here it is: Step 1: Go to Wikipedia and...
