Hi Longknife,
I only have one small thing to add. PTSD is the acronym for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I'm sure agents will know that, so just thought it will only help if you get that little bit right.
Best of luck!

Re: The Legend of Mack the Knife
Hey Donald! First of all, congratulations on completing your novel! That's a feat that few ever do. What a great idea basing your story off of a song - way cool! And who doesn't love Louis Armstrong?? Now, about your query... I think the BEST advice I can give you at this point is to head on over to...

Re: Developing a story, would like some help
OK, I'll play this game! ;) So, how does he become a time traveler? What does he use to do it? Is it a machine? Is it magic? Some other kind of technology? Who is Rank? How did he come by this odd name? Is it a nickname? Where does he come from? What's so special about Rank that he gets to be a time...

Re: Query Letter; Where to write
Every agent has their own guidelines for posting queries. You MUST abide by each one individually. When you query, I suggest reading the agent's entire website before you submit just so you don't mess anything up before you've even gotten inside the door. Good luck!

Re: Writing a quality blurb...
I've been stuck writing this blurb for the past month, changing words here and there and moving sentences around and such. I've been so focused on it that now I think I'm too focused on it. I'm not even sure if it covers everything a blurb is supposed to, and I certainly don't know if it grabs the ...

Re: How much should I worry about trends?
Hi Lulabelle! First, good for you on regaining your "itch" to write! The first step to success is to be sitting in that chair writing. As for trends... I say don't worry about them. If you have a story to tell, then tell it. It doesn't matter if you think it's been done before. Because rea...

Hi, I'm John Celestri and I collaborate with my wife Cathie, writing as Cathie John. We self published five crime fiction novels back in 1997 through 2003. This was before POD, eBooks, etc. We are relaunching our writing career(s) and catching up on the changes in publishing since we were last acti...

Re: What are you reading now?
Just finished ODD INTERLUDE by Dean Koontz. It was OK. Started out great, then sorta went downhill. I read another of his Odd Thomas books, BROTHER ODD, which I thought was much more entertaining. Starting in on ENDER'S GAME by Orson Scott Card. I've read it before years ago, but I hardly remember i...

Re: Query: The Forest and the Sea
Hey, welcome to the forums! Aren't queries a booger? My advice to you is simple. Go see the Query Shark (aka Janet Reid). You will learn everything you need to know about how to write a fantastic query. She suggests (and so do I) to read ALL of the posts from the beginning. This will seem a daunting...

Seriously dude, this would make a fantastic play. People love dark comedy, too. Have you ever considered turning it into a script?
