Louise's answer was better than mine, so I defer to her.

Re: Agent has full. Should I sent a revised manuscript?
I once asked this question to Nathan and he hedged. I went ahead and sent the revision and apologized for any inconvenience it might have caused. The agency was very receptive, and even expressed gratitude, to my email. Ultimately, the agency rejected my work, but wrote the nicest rejection I've had...

Re: Should self-published book be told
How long did it take you to sell the 1,000 copies? How did you go about doing that? What publisher did you use? Did you pay for any services? Do you have any general advice regarding the self-publishing process?
Big thanks.
Big thanks.

Re: Rejection Stats
I'm kind of surprised how generally few queries have been sent by those reporting in this thread. I'm used to seeing stories about writers who found their agent after 75 attempts. I hope you guys putting your stats up are keeping on sending those queries out! Continued best of luck to all! I was on...

Re: Publisher directly..No agent?
Is the publisher legit? Major press? Small press? Vanity press? Ostensibly, an agent has the connections with the publishers, but you don't need that. Furthermore, an agent should be able to get you a better deal than you can get for yourself, but you won't be sharing your advance or royalties with ...

You have no idea. Check out http://www.robertkline.com And once you're there, don't forget to visit the section of the site labeled, "how do mermaids and sea-maidens reproduce?"JuiceinLA wrote:

Re: Do any of you other unpublished authors have websites?
Some other guy in my home state with my same name has a website where he sells his self-published novels that are meant to accompany his paintings of sea-maidens.
I've wondered if any agent has ever tried to Google me and then found him. I sure hope not.

Re: Ask Nathan
Nathan, I have never seen an agent list "autobiographical fiction" as a genre he or she represents, so I'm reluctant to use that phrase in a query letter. I'm more inclined to use something generic like "mainstream fiction" or "literary fiction with commercial appeal" a...

Re: Benefits of attending conferences for finding agent
Then she suggested hiring an editor. I queried the editor she suggested, but that person . . . . It's very exciting that you've gotten some really positive feedback on you memoir. Keep up the good work. I'm sure you can find a few places to trim some fat. Even if you're reluctant to cut sections/pa...

Re: This may be a minor question.....
Moreover, a woman who gets annoyed by a stranger who addresses her as Ms. will be annoying. LOL. Sorry. Sure, why not? It's so easy to find an agent. Who wants one with a feminist tick. What exactly is the outrage over "Ms."? Why would a feminist take offense to that term? What term would...

Well said.cheekychook wrote:A woman who gets annoyed by a stranger who addresses her as Ms. will be annoyed because she has a personal issue with the title, not because you've breached etiquette.

Re: Ask Nathan
Nathan, Three weeks ago an agent requested a full manuscript of my novel. Since then, I've made some edits. The edits are not major, but I believe they improve the work. Would it be unprofessional to send an email to the agent and say something like, "if you have not yet found time to review my...
