Re: The Novella and Stephanie Meyer

I haven't seen the book yet, but i read a review yesterday, and it got real poor ratings! So i was having my doubts whether to buy it or not.

You should just email your query to her... you could just explain the mistake you made. Personally i don't think you even need to wait before doing that.

This option of self-publishing sounds interesting.

Hey JFBookman - What about a cover design? Do they design a cover for you? Or can you design and get it printed out?

Re: Creating an author web site

Its always a great idea to have your own website. But getting it done professionally might be a tad bit expensive. You can enquire around - there are ton's of sites online. Just search for 'web hosting' on google. Most of the companies who offer domain and server space - also offer web design servic...

Synopsis - Under The Sun

I really can't understand how to summarize a book of 60,000 words into 2 pages. And i struggled to do mine. I've been using this synopsis so far, but i'm not happy with it myself. And i can't seem to edit it further. I'm on a total block. My story involves a lot of plots - so I've only stuck to the ...

Re: A forum game: three word story

Once upon a horse Sonja feared the darkness across the river might be too deep. Sighing, she turned and found a block of cheese made of Venusian so she picked up a sword to pierce into the looming thicket. "No!" said the block of cheese! "Don't go there!" But the cheese did not k...

Re: The Incredible Race

I prefer sticking to shorter chapters as well. Its easy to read and it sort of keeps you going. When i'm reading ... i'll think - ok 5 minutes more... until this chapter gets over and then i'll go and do 'so and so that i've been putting off for the past 1 hour' - but when the chapter ends, i'm just...

Re: You Know You're a Writer When...

You find yourself mentally narrating your life. E.g., "She turned the tap on, then relaxed as the cool water soothed the already blistering tip of her finger. She swore never to try to flip a grilled cheese sandwich with her bare hands again.", etc. Then, you realize that what you just se...

You know you're a writer when... you start wishing the characters in your books were real, cos they're soo much more cooler than real folks! :P

Re: How old are you?

I'm 23... started writing songs when i was 8. Took a break from writing (unintentionally) from when i was 19 to 23. Now i'm back to it - from the past 2 months or so - and gone on to write a complete novel... not just songs and poetry anymore! :) Feels good!
