Re: Words I Can't Stop Using

Wow, I really just didn't expect ' just ' to show up so many times. I mean, I knew I had problems with it in the past, but I just thought I was over it. Just makes you stop and think though. Doesn't it, just? Thanks for the wordle tip. I'd seen that link before but never bothered clicking through. I...

Re: Kobo Ereader in Canada

I could only find 2 different font options... Serif and Sans Serif. One was a touch darker than the other (Serif maybe?) but the text still seemed less crisp than I was expecting.

I'd like to play with a Kindle to see the difference.

Re: Kobo Ereader in Canada

I played with a Kobo today, and it is cheap in all senses of the word. It feels like something you might pull out of a cereal box if you were really lucky. The plasticy feel okay at that pricepoint, but my concern was that the screen seemed quite low quality. I walked over to the Sony store afterwar...

Re: The Introduction Thread

I've mentioned this in two other posts, but I just found the intro thread now... I quit my job at the end of 2009 to travel for a couple of years, but some circumstances changed, and after living and surfing in Costa Rica for three months, I'm now using a portion of my savings to write full time for...

Re: What do you "do"?

I quit my job at the end of 2009 so that I could take a couple of years off to travel. Some circumstances changed, and after spending three months in Costa Rica, I'm now back in Vancouver and deciding to use a portion of my savings to write full time for the next three or four months. So I guess I'm...

Re: When Should You Feel Comfortable Calling Yourself a WRITER?

These days 'writer' sounds so much more attractive than my alternative 'unemployed'.

I did, however, discover that when searching for a new apartment and trying to fill out the occupation field on a rental form, the two words come off remarkably similar in meaning.

Re: Time to Fess Up - How Long Is It Taking You?

I'm at the 1.5 month mark and am 20,000 words into a roughly 100,000 word project. I'm fortunate enough to be able to work on the writing full time, and I'm hoping to be done a first draft in another 8 weeks or so.
