Re: Amazon buys touch screen company
I'm not sure about that but I'm less sure about the publishing industry. So much so that I'm considering paying CreateSpace, a division of Amazon $5000 to put together a POD program for my book. The odds have always been stacked against us but particularly now, with money so tight, the tiny ray of ...

Re: First few Paragraphs YA suspense - Black Horse -Working Titl
Wow this is definitely a great hook! This really entices me to want to read more. The only thing that bothered me a bit is the line " I turned back to see a guy staring at me." Maybe try giving a little more detail on him or giving him a quirk? This is just my preference but I hate when pe...

I've just finishing up Xenocide by the lovely Orson Scott Card and about to start on Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsey.

Re: What are you writing now?
Right now I'm working on my second novel, called Dollie vs. Monster. It's my first stab at YA Fiction and I think its going really well so far! But then again...I'm barely 3,000 words in. haha
best of luck to you all and your WIPs!

Re: What writing disorder do you suffer from?
Diarrhea of the Fingers. I literally pull scenes out of my-well, out of thin air! With absolutely zero self-control. I can't help but laugh uncontrollably at the idea of outlining my novel ahead of time because it always ends up going in an unplanned direction... I'm doing better though!

Re: Craptastic covers... what are your pet peeves?
I hate when covers rip-off the look of book covers that are already popular. Working at a bookstore, I've seen a ridiculous amount of Harry Potter and Twilight rip offs. Have some originality people!

Re: POLL: Where do you buy your books?
Well since I work at B & N I use my lovely little discount to buy all my books! The employees also have a "book loan" program where we can "check out" hardcover books (like at a library) and read them for free. I <3 my job. But for out of print books I usually try half price ...

Re: Peeta Vs. Gale
hahaha i love this topic! Personally, i find it extremely difficult to choose between one or the other. It feels like I'm SUPPOSED to be team Gale because he's the heartbroken guy who lost his girl due of circumstances that neither of them could control. From the audience perspective, it doesn't fee...

I opened with a quote for my newest WIP:
“Have you ever wondered how this happened? How we got this way?"
i love reading all of your opening lines!
