Re: Pulping fiction: Franzen's London nightmare
I enjoyed this post - thank you! Great analysis of the ramifications of a snafu like this being discovered so publicly. You also make a good point that books should be "fixed" from one edition to the next. I know an author who discovered a typo in the hardcover of his book, and the publish...

Re: Guest Post: Do It Now
Ha! Rick, I'm a procrastinator at heart, too. In fact, I'm putting off doing the laundry right now. That's why I wrote this post - it's as much a reminder for me as for anyone else.

Nice, Rick! This is a great metaphor - and I think it's better without the explanation. It's lovely.

Brodi, thank you so much for posting this. As someone who is searching for an agent at the moment, I can understand your hesitation to jump back into the query pool. It's so good to hear that if the passion is gone, it really is best to move on to another "relationship." And congratulation...

Guest Post: Do It Now
My husband and I tried our hand at pursuing a business venture about a decade back. Without going into the painful details, I'll just say that we sucked and leave it at that. But despite our major suckage at trying to manage people and make money, we actually learned something! And it's something th...

Re: Social Networking - does it really work?
I JUST blogged about this this morning! Out of curiosity, I checked out the current NYT Bestseller list for MG and YA novels, and I looked up the blogs and websites of the authors of the top ten books on the list and went through their archives to see how long they had been blogging, tweeting, etc. ...

Re: LABOR DAY WEEKEND WRITE-OFF
Well, I didn't get much time to write at ALL. Hubby came home with a ton of work to do, so I basically had the kids all weekend. Boo! But, I did manage to write and scrap and rewrite the first third of my chapter book a couple of times, and re-do the outline for it. So, all things considered, I did ...

Re: A forum game: three word story
Once upon a horse Sonja feared the darkness across the river might be too deep. Sighing, she turned and found a block of cheese made of Venusian so she picked up a sword to pierce into the looming thicket. "No!" said the block of cheese! "Don't go there!" But the cheese did not k...

Re: The Reading Room - New Book Social Networking Site
I use Goodreads, but that's mostly because I was pointed to it early in the game and I don't like switching around a lot. And I don't have time to maintain/visit more than one on a regular basis.
