How and when to 'nudge' an agent...?

Post by LaurenNTaylor » October 6th, 2012, 7:46 pm

Hi, I sent a full off 3 months ago. I was wondering at what point can you send an email to see how it's going? Or whether you should at all. Also how would you phrase a 'nudge' email?

Thanks.

Three months is a good time to nudge if you haven't heard back. If I were you, I'd respond to the initial email requesting the ms and make the inquiry brief, something like:

"I'm just following up to see if you've had a chance to read [title] or, if not, when you think you might have a chance to. Thank you for your time."

Is it weird that I am extremely entertained that the first half of that blog post on following up with an agent is about The Hills? Because I am very entertained. In fact, I can definitely say that made my day better.
