What's Your Genre?
What's your genre? Mine is chick-lit. Am I the only one? :)

Re: Out of curiosity
No, you're not the only one, there are a few others scattered around, they're just not in the majority.
I write women's fiction with strong romantic elements and I also write romance (with varied levels of sensuality). My work is never considered "chick lit" because at least 50% of the pov scenes are from the guy's pov, rather than the story being more focused on the journey of the "chick". Plus I tend to put in more explicit scenes than one might find in standard chick lit :)

Frankly, I consider "chick-lit" a perjorative term. Though, yep, I read, and appreciate Feminist literary art movements' conventions, so I can comment intelligently upon it, maybe write it from an outsider's perspective, which is generally where I am, regardless, a nonbelonger by nature.
Spread the love of written word.
Re: Out of curiosity
I'm a fantasy girl, through-and-through. I'd love to try my hand at urban one day but so far all my books have been high fantasy/traditional fantasy/sword-and-sorcery stuff, whatever you want to call it.
We have a lot of sci-fi/fantasy on the boards. Lots of YA, too. Maybe that's why we're so fun. We learn towards crazy AND immature. :)

Hmm...looking at my WIPs: epic fantasy, young adult supernatural romance, general romance, and I think would be considered science fiction/supernatural (angels, demons, Heaven, Hell?). I'm all over the place :-P

One look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2986 should dispell any misconceptions that we are mature, hard working, upstanding adults.dios4vida wrote: We have a lot of sci-fi/fantasy on the boards. Lots of YA, too. Maybe that's why we're so fun. We learn towards crazy AND immature. :)

Re: Out of curiosity
I like to say I'm an advocate for Watchers and Nephilim everywhere. It's why I write so many books with them in it.
But technically, I'm a grab bag fiction girl. I have a little bit of everything including Victorian Steampunk\Cyberpunk. And I'm beginning to dabble in Sci-fi, too.
