Favorite misheard song lyrics
Okay, we've all done it---been certain a song contained a particular phrase, sung it over and over in our heads (or perhaps belted it out loud) only at some point to learn that in reality that is not at all what the lyrics are. For instance:
Excuse me while I kiss this guy (Excuse me while I kiss the sky---Purple Haze---Hendrix)
I get high (I can't hide---I Want To Hold Your Hand---The Beatles)
I've been there in my underwear (I've been there, I know the way---Can't Get There From Here---REM)
Simian way (send me on my way---Send Me On My Way---Rusted Root) [Wait---what? It's not about monkeys??]
There's a bathroom on the right (there's a bad moon on the rise---Bad Moon Rising---Creedence Clearwater Revival)
So, what are your favorites? Did you mishear them all on your own? Catch a friend singing the wrong ones? Join in a debate over what's really being said only to google the lyrics and find out you're all wrong? Discuss.

He's a juice box hero (Juke Box Hero - Foreigner)
When I was younger, it made perfect sense! I wanted to be a hero and get my face put on a juice box too. :)
In Garth Brooks' Unanswered Prayers, there's a line that goes: Just remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs, that just because he don't answer, doesn't mean he don't care.
The "man upstairs" is clearly supposed to be God, but I used to imagine an old cranky neighbor living in an upstairs apartment, swatting his newspaper in the air and saying something like "you damn kids." But deep inside, he really cared.

My most embarrassing cover tune played live:
Mine;
He's a radio receiver
Turns the factories amps on
Theirs;
He's a radio receiver
Tuned to factories and farms
He's a writer and arranger
And a young boy bearing arms

For years people have reported mishearing "Go See Cal" in this dealership jingle as "Pussy Cow". Maybe because of all the animals.

My ex always swore that "Oh Sheila" was "Oh Sailor." (Oh sailor, let me love you til the morning comes). Of course, the same ex also thought Billy Idol's "Rock the Cradle" was titled "Rob the Cradle."
I'll never forgive the friend who heard "Donkey Butt" in Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give It Up." I will always hear "Donkey butt, you still have friends."

How about the bee gees' “my babe comes in at midnight, goes right onto the dog"?
Or Mariah Carey does Harry Nilsson: "oh I can't believe the semen on your face as you were leavin'"

Dramarama's "Anything, Anything"
My lyrics: "I got wasted. She got mad. Called me names that she'd called her dad. He got crazy and I did too."
Real lyrics: "I got wasted. She got mad. Called me names then she called her dad. He got crazy and I did too."
I like my lyrics betters. They add dimensions into the psychology and past of woman in the song. Really gives that character depth. So I still sing my lyrics whenever the song come on.

I always thought that Bee Gees song went, "Ah—ah—ah—ah, stay in the line…" (as opposed to, uh, "Stayin' Alive")

Hey, what's the matter man?
We gonna come around the square
with some Puerto Rican girls and
Diane Temecha. (a former Memphis DJ. She didn't like that song)
