Re: Tag Poetry

I believe I was tagged first, so here it is (pasted from the first poetry thread which I'll edit soon)

I Want To Paint It Orange

I see a white fridge and I want to paint it orange
No fruit anymore I want to eat an orange
I see the trucks drive by without their orange cargo
I have to hang my head until my orange grows

I see a big grapefruit and it is painted orange
You can’t fool me, I’ll let it rot in storage
I see people eat their orange and quickly turn away
My need for C grows more most everyday

No more will my green orange turn to deeper blue
I could not foresee this happening so soon
If I look hard enough into the fridge’s bin
My orange will laugh at me before I eat again

I see a white fridge and I want to paint it orange
No fruit anymore I want to eat an orange
I see the trucks drive by without their orange cargo
I have to hang my head till my orange grows

I wanna see it painted orange, painted orange
Orange as UT, orange as anemone
I wanna see an orange I can call my own
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted orange

Does it have to be condiments? 'Cause if it doesn't I'd like to see a poem about the tar between a bridges expansion joints. If condiments are the order of the day then I'll settle for syrup.

Mira's it.

Oh my. That is a MASTERPIECE. That's WONDERFUL!!

Watcher, as honored as I am, it's been a tough week for me, and I need to be in real life for at least a few more days. Which sucks. Be back to play soon, though. Can I pass this time around, and take up the mantle later on?

That really is terrific, Watcher. :)

Hmmm, OK - polymath, expansion joint tar or syrup.

I don't think we should limit ourselves to condiments. In fact, the more neglected the subject, the better. Expansion joint tar is PERFECT, IMO!

Okay, since Polymath sadly does not like poetry, I shall take up the mantle again. Thank you, Watcher, I'm honored. I shall endeavor to do you proud.

--------------------------

Ode to Maple Syrup (because I don't know what expansion joint tar is)

O! Behold!
Maple Syrup!
Thou art awesome and delicious
And though you sticky up the dishes
Thy Maple goodness is divine

O! Alas!
Maple Syrup!
I can not eat thee,I do bemoan
Pancakes I eatith with jam alone
No Maple Syrup shall be mine!

Shall I eat thee with spaghetti? No!
Shall I eat thee with brucetti? No!
Shall I eat thee with brown betty? No!

Tis only pancakes that are a match for thee
So, thou and I shall forever be

Apart!

O! Alas!

MAPLE SYRUP!!!!!!!!!

---------------------------
Thank you.

Once people are done weeping (this IS a sad one) I tag - BEETOVENFAN!!! And the topic -

applesauce, of course.

Dare I say - parting (with maple syrup) is such sweet sorrow?

Do I get extra points if I weep tears of maple syrup?

Ah, Watcher, tis true, tis true. So sad.......

Medusa, if you weep tears of maple syrup, you get more than extra points! You get extra pancakes.

Okay, so, sadly Beetovenfan either didn't notice this or is too busy.

So, I'm tagging someone else.

SOMMER.

You're it. Applesauce. Go to it. :)

Sorry I didn't know it was my turn! I've been in real life dealing with 20 Cub Scouts for a week at Day Camp. But here I am and here goes. Off the cuff.

APPLESAUCE

Applesauce is fun to eat.
Applesauce is a good sweet treat.
But, I don't eat it every day,
just once (maybe twice) a week is OK.

Applesauce is kinda runny,
and when I slurp it, it's kinda funny.
I don't do that all the time,
only when others won't hear, then it's fine.

Applesauce is good for you
and so soft you need not chew.
But do not drink it. No, that's not the way.
With a spoon you must eat it, this tradition do not betray!

Applesauce is a sack lunch standard,
it's rarely maligned, or ever slandered.
But sometimes, on a few occasions my loyalty is in question,
For I might simply prefer a plain 'ol apple of the Red Delicious persuasion!

Best I could do for almost 2:00 in the morning. Ok, so I think I will stick with Sommer going next. The subject is the plain, unadulterated egg. OK, it can be whatever kind of egg you want, but the subject is EGG. Can't wait to read this one! :D

Yay Beetovenfan!!!

SNAP. That's awesome. Love it.
Also loved that you typed it right into the little box. My too. That's the spirit of condiment poetry!

Also, love your choice of topic. Egg. Lol.

Sommer? Where's Sommer? We're waiting for our breakfast egg, Sommer!

Boy, Medusa, you'd think people didn't want to write silly poetry!! But that can't be it. Who wouldn't want to write silly poetry??

I think Sommer is too busy with life and planning our meet n greet. So. Anyone else want to tackle EGGS? Anyone? Anyone?
