What are authors most painful problem?

Post by Bookl » September 10th, 2013, 12:42 pm

Hi everyone,

I am an avid reader and student entrepreneur from Stockholm. I'm trying to create a Netflix/Spotify/Pandora for books, but with one kicker: we want to offer the books for free, while still reimbursing the authors.

Our initial beta version proved some of our assumptions wrong, and we are slightly changing direction: focusing on self-published and independent authors! To make you want to use it, we'll try to solve your main problems. So..

What are your biggest problems when trying to sell your ebooks as a self-published author?

Any comments are appreciated!
Sincerely,
Carl-Arvid

This is interesting. I actually think that the nature of a Spotify/Netflix-style subscription service makes it a potentially great tool for book discovery, which is one of the biggest problems facing self-published authors. Having the ability, as a reader, to read as much or as little of a recommended book as possible is a great way of encouraging people to try out new authors and titles.
