like a bestiary, but with objects

I know most of the discussion on here is about fiction, but I'd like to know if anybody's heard of a book of any kind like this: a collection of legendary objects. I was working on organizing my books and put together my "bestiary" section, including Carol Rose's encyclopedias of monsters and fairies, Borges' "Book of Imaginary Beings", the 1981 first edition "Fiend Folio", a Pokemon guide, and so on, and I realized I've got lots of these but nothing about objects. Wikipedia's got pages for "List of mythological objects" and such, but a nice scholarly book would be great.
Everybody loves using things as other things, right? Check out my blog at the Cromulent Bricoleur and see one hipster's approach to recycling, upcycling, and alterna-cycling (which is a word I just made up).
