Hi All,

I've not had many sales from my first book so which would I do better to concentrate my time on

– a sequel to my first book or spread my risk by writing a book in a different genre?

Regards
Swati

Always write you'd like to write. If you'd like to try another genre, give it a try. You have nothing to lose and you would never learn what would be the outcome if you never try. I also write in many genres, sci-fi, noir thriller, etc, etc... and I also invented a new one, Auralight Fantasy, because I wanted to create something else, something new (And there even the chapters has a different genre as the story is progressing.). Only you can tell what you'd like to write next. Only you feel and know what story you'd like to tell nex. Restricting yourself to one genre is very safe, but it's also very stupid as sometimes writing in a different genre is giving you better and greater ideas, or a better audience. As I said, if you never give it a try, you won't ever learn the outcome.
