Another great author, this time of children's books, gone.

Ever read the Berenstein Bears? I've read many of these books to my kids. They're wonderful. Jan Berenstein, the coauthor of these children's books died on Friday. Here's a link to a news article.

Aww that's too bad. I remember reading those books as a kid

 I LOVED the Berenstein Bears! I had so many of those books. I read them so often that I had many of them memorized. What a loss! :(

I loved the Berenstain Bears too. My mother taught elementary school and had the whole series, even way back to when Brother Bear was an only child, named "Small Bear." He apparently had to undergo a name change when Sister Bear came along. I guess his parents weren't too forward-thinking... or Sis was an "oops." ;)

(I wonder how the Star Wars franchise would've changed if Han Solo discovered he had a long-lost sibling? Obviously he wouldn't be solo anymore.) :P
