So, we should set some Mockingjay spoiler rules for next week. I'm going to get in on the 24th and probably allow the kids and hubby to starve (or live off of pizza) for a few days while I inhale Mockingjay. Of course, I am going to want to talk to someone about it, so how do you guys want to chat?

Want to do a separate post warning of possible spoilers?

Definitely need to warn people about spoilers. I'm not opening any threads related to the book until I'm finished reading.

I guess whoever finishes first (Robin, I'm looking at you) can start a thread and we'll discuss as everyone catches up. Darn, eight more days. Grrr.

I'm trying to convince myself 8 days isn't a long time. It really isn't. But I still cant help but browse the books hoping (but knowing it's impossible) that it will be there.
A new post sounds good. I hate being spoiled with books I love. Last time it happened I threw the book at someone. It was Order of the Phoenix and man do I have good aim when I'm angry.

I think a separate post with spoiler warning is appropriate! I know I'm going to come home from work, rip it out if its Amazon box, and stay up all night until it is done and I'll want someone to talk to ASAP!!!!

I'm anticipating this book with such greed. I'm having a dystopia week on my blog that week so I can talk about why I love it and books like it all week long.

I was just in my local today, and couldn't help scanning the shelves, just in case they pulled a fast one like they did with LINGER (which got released early at the last minute). 6 more days! 6 more days!

In the meantime, SHIVER and LINGER (by Maggie Stiefvater) are pretty darn good, if you ask me. Her prose is like poetry. I wish I could write like that! LOL! My prose in the first draft of my YA novel is more like rambling so far. I'm sure I'll have cut half of it by the time my revisions are finished. Enjoy the journey, right?

ANYWAY: 6 more days!!!!

Request: whoever starts the spoiler thread on Mockingjay, can you alert us folks over here? Thanks!

Lol! You are a dork, but I agree so what does that say about me?

Also, bad news on the Aussie front: I don't even know if ANY of my local bookshops/booksellers will have Mockingjay on it's release day! I'm going to miss all the fun discussions I bet!

I thought I'd share some Mockingjay love with you all, although I'm a little late on some of this.

http://presentinglenore.blogspot.com/has been doing a Dystopian August theme all month in lead up to the Mockingjay release with lots of great book reviews and reader participation.

Steph Su Reads did a great post about predicting the end of Mockingjay (Non-Spoilery): http://stephsureads.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... y-end.html

There's an Official 13 District Blog Tour going on, though some of the contests are already over. The posts about The Hunger Game districts at each book blog are great!! Here's the whole schedule:
* District 1: GalleySmith (Contest closed)

* District 13: Beth Fish Reads | August 30

I'm also doing a dystopian week on my blog, but it's not nearly as exciting as these other book bloggers!

I don't know how I'm going to get through work tomorrow knowing that Mockingjay is waiting for me when I get home. I hope my husband is prepared to go hungry but I am not going to do anything except read all night tomorrow night.

:D Yeah, I read fast. I generally read about a page a minute, but if I'm really into it it can get up to 1 1/2, 2 pages a min.

That, and I knew I'd never sleep if I didn't finish it.
