Historical fiction author Sophie Perinot blogs about the excitement, fear, and exhaustion that makes the last month before publication the most uncomfortable of all: http://bookpregnant.blogspot.com/2012/0 ... iller.html

I don’t see Amazon as a threat to competition. Quite the opposite, in fact. Amazon have done more to foster competition that any other player in the industry. The convergence of four key trends – rise in online bookselling, the widespread adoption of e-readers, the rapidly increasing popularity of e-books, and the ease of digital publishing – have introduced a huge level of competition in the industry. One company has been more responsible for that than anyone: Amazon.

Amazon Is Creating Competition, Not Killing It

Should you do a print edition? Should you bother with a mailing list? Which ads are worth the money? Is it worth running a limited time sale? How do you go about setting up all this stuff? All these questions, and more, answered today.

Been giving extra attention to characters...what about being a pantster? Does that help or hinder character development?
