I recently started a blog with Blogger, because I was most familiar with Blogger.

Well, Blogger has a built in statistics tracker, and even though I swore I'd ignore it (that's not what blogging is about, right?), I now check it way too much.

One of the fun things, though, is they have a section for key words, so that if someone types those words into a search engine, like Google, your site comes up.

I am very proud to say that if someone types these words into a search engine, my blog is an option:

"Gross pictures of snails."

Now people who want to look at gross pictures of snails wasn't exactly my target demographic, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

(For the record, I did write a post about snails, but there are NO GROSS pictures of snails on it. No idea why google thinks there are. Google works in mysterious ways).

I just wondered, does anyone else have some fun keyword phrases that lead people to your blog? If so, please share!

Aw well Mira those snails WERE pretty gross! I am proud to say I typed those exact words into google and that is how I found your blog the first time I read it... No, I'm kidding

writersink - I thought you were serious! Who DOESN'T type "gross pictures of snails" into a google search? It's all the rage - everybody's doing it!

I've had some hilarious ones and a few members of the Teens Can Write Too blog chain did posts on it for our ... November? ... chain

And to the person who searched 'my ankle', I'm worried that you need to go to Google for that. It's on the other end of your leg. Honest.

And my answer to it isint a freindship unless theres could only be 'good grammar'.

I've had some weird ones, but right now the top two are 'Blog hot french' and Welcome to the jungle'. LOL

delorfinde, you bring up a really good point. People type some very strange things into Google.
Just imagine someone typing "I'm going underground" and why they would type that?

Charlee, LOL. I like 'welcome to the jungle'. I can't imagine the post that relates to!

I am very proud to say that "examples of nihilism in hamlet" and "good books to read for 2012 young women" are two of my top search keywords. But some fashion site came up as well, and I don't believe I've ever said anything about fashion ever... I didn't know there was a keyword section of the stats until now. Interesting. I knew about the referring sites, though, and the Bransforums are #1.

Hehe these are so funny! "I'm going underground." LOL! I've seen some strange people on the underground though, so that doesn't surprise me
