Pros:
-Information on publishing (Nathan's blog, query-tracker etc.)
-Face palm jpegs
-Up to date infor from publishers (twitter and blogs)
-Online community of aspiring authors (Forum and blogs)
-Easily send info to crit partners.

Cons:
-You pretty much never write ever because you are blogging.
-You pretty much never write ever because you are checking email, twitter, facebook, etc.
-You pretty much never write ever because you are playing Mafia Wars.
-You pretty much never write ever because you are reading Snooki's book on your kindle app.
